I would like to construct a water drum but I have never actually seen one in person (I live in the western united states), nor can I find a photo or diagram in the texts I have researched. I want to make a water drum from a cypress knee not a kettle. I just picked up a nice hollow cypress knee that might make an excellent drum but I do not understand how to get the drum head onto the base. I have read it is with a wooden band and that walnut shells attached to the drumhead go under the band to help keep it taught. I need some specific directions from someone who is familiar with this type of instrument, but I would be very grateful for any advice. Wanishi. Lewlew
