I beiieve the person you are interested in is not "Fallen Leaves" but Nora Thompson Dean, whose Lenape name was TOUCHING LEAVES. Nora had been raised in the "old ways" of Delaware life, and her memories and info. sharing with historians, anthropologists, and writers made it possible to save many aspects of Lenape history and culture. To my knowledge she never wrote a book, but many an author credits Nora for her significant contributions to their work. Nora died in Nov. of 1984, and is buried in the Delaware Cemetery outside of Dewey OKLA. You can hear her voice pronouncing Lenape words on the website of the Delaware Tribe of Eastern OKLA at: www.delawaretribeofindians.nsn.us/ and on the language tapes sold by the above group from their Tribal store. Reference: personal conversations with Nora, her husband Charlie, her daughter Louise (sorrowfully, they have all passed), and with her adopted nephew, Jimm Rementer WANISHI!
