The Delaware tribe is known by
two names; that of Lenape, and Delaware, a
name later to the tribe by European
colonists.
The Delaware people were a
sedentary matriarchal society, and relied
heavily on agriculture to survive.
Although they seemingly got
along with the colonists at first, conflicts
later emerged that would ultimately force the
Delaware to relocate.

We have also included a
